Ingredients for 8 or 9

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml. of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, margarine or 3 of oil

Preparation

1. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water, the teaspoon of sugar and let it rest until it activates and foams. In a large bowl, sift the flour and mix it with the salt. Add the warm water little by little with the yeast and mix well. Finally, add the butter while mixing with your hands until you get a homogeneous dough.

2. Place the dough in a greased container and cover. Let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour. Then lightly flour the worktop and knead for 5 minutes. Cover again and let it rest 1 hour more. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions, knead them, and form into balls. Place them on a greased and floured tray, cover and let them rest for 1 hour.

3. Preheat oven at 200C 15 minutes before and insert a container with water in the base before introducing the breads to the oven, make 2 cross cuts with a blade, and if you wish, you can sprinkle flour on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove the breads from the oven and let them cool on the rack.
